Damascus Making Class

Damascus Making Class
Please read the full description before purchasing the class.
This class will have a small group of three to four participants. We will go through the entire process of making Damascus Steel, including my “dry” welding or no flux method. I will demonstrate with a billet and assist each student with their own. The class will last over eight hours, depending on how long it takes to complete. Students must bring their own PPE, gloves, long pants, and sturdy leather footwear. Activities will include cutting, welding, grinding, and forging. We will cover everything from initial billet preparation to stacking, restacking, and drawing out stock. Each student will keep their billet, and if they cannot anneal it themselves, I will anneal it and ship it to them. Basic power tool skills and shop safety knowledge are preferred. Tools used will include a metal saw, welder, grinders, forge, and forging press.
This is a hands-on class.
Please bring snacks and lunch.
Water will be provided.
You will take home your billet forged to your preferred stock size.
